Smoky Blue Literary and Arts Magazine has accepted my poem “The Freelance Geographer” for publication in March 2020

Smoky Blue Literary and Arts Magazine has accepted my poem “The Freelance Geographer” for publication in March 2020. This is the fourth time SBLAAM has featured my work and I deeply appreciate it.  The poem is written as if in the voice of my friend since college, Don Bivens, who died in 2018 and is my small memorial to a good man, a good friend, whose nickname was indeed “Good Guy.”

Writing Fiction: A Guide to Narrative Craft by Janet Burroway My rating: 4 of 5 stars I first read Burroway’s book in its second edition. Now in its tenth edition, Writing Fiction is even better. I recommend it for the beginning or more mature writer. View all my reviews

Thank you Matt Dhillon for organizing this event and all the poets and musicians who participated. The Odd Fellows Hall was chilly but the audience was warm and friendly.
